2026 Endorsement Process

New York State Senate, Assembly and Statewide Office

Since 1997, we have helped elect pro-tenant champions at the state and local level. We endorse and contribute funds to a limited slate of candidates running in competitive races; we do not endorse in every race. Endorsement decisions are made on a rolling basis by majority vote of our Board of Directors - a team of 17 volunteer tenant leaders and advocates with decades of combined experience in electoral work.

2026 Questionnaire

Steps to a Tenants PAC Endorsement

  1. Complete the questionnaire. We can only accept submissions made through the Google Form.

  2. We reach out to any other candidates running in the same race to invite them to submit a questionnaire.

  3. We review questionnaire submissions to determine which (if any) candidates proceed to the interview.

  4. We conduct brief virtual candidate interviews (20-30 minutes) with our Board of Directors.

  5. The Board makes a final decision and informs all of the candidates in the race.

  6. We coordinate the announcement with the campaign.
